I am so saddened to hear of John's passing. Calm and always smiling, he will be missed from those who worked with him. After a lifetime of working, we may not be blood, but we who work together become a sort of family. My heartfelt condolences to John's loved ones. Jacqui Kellestine

John was a soft spoken and kind soul. And as a friend of his late sister Marilyn I saw the care and brotherly devotion he showed her over the years.
So to all of John's family I extend my sincere sympathy. I am so sorry for your loss.

Please accept my condolences to family and friends of John. As a co-worker at LTC, John was very involved in shaping a better work environment for transit workers through his union activity, where he was always a voice of reason. I was shocked and sadenned to hear of his passing, and we all owe him a debt. Sincerely, C. Banka

Heartfelt sympathies to John's family and friends.
John was a kind soul, always asking about family and friends whether he knew them or not. If they were your family or friend and not well, he cared and would ask about them next time we talked.
This past year we have missed and will continue to miss John stopping by for coffee and a visit. If he dropped by and we were working at something, be it wood or raking, etc, he would often stay for a work visit and then a coffee.
Thanks for the many memories and being our friend, rest peacefully.
Mayme and Brian Gibbons

I was still in high school when John was born. My mother was unhappy when he was named John because now there were two John's in Wingham bit it was never a problem. I always knew John as a gentle soul concerned for others especially the elderly. He was kind and faithful in visiting my parents until their deaths. I know the same considerations were shown to the passengers on his bus routes in London. I feel badly that he became ill so soon after his retirement. We had hoped to spend more time with him. Our love goes out to all members of John's family in this difficult time.
