Obituary of Velma May Tavener

At Braemar Retirement Centre, Wingham on Monday, May 22, 2006, Mrs. Velma Tavener of Wingham, age 93 years. The former Velma Orvis beloved wife of the late Andrew Scott (1990) and the late Harvey Tavener (2004). Dear mother of Stephanie and John McEwen of Wingham. Sister of Hazel Taylor, Ross and Edna Orvis, Jack and Norma Orvis and Bill and Arlene Orvis. Sister-in-law of Fred Howson. Predeceased by her parents George and Annie (Campbell) Orvis, her son Stephen Scott (1985) sisters Jean Loughlean and Mary Howson and her brother Ellingworth Orvis. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Tuesday, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm Funeral service will be held at the funeral chapel on Wednesday at 1:30 pm. Reverend Wayne B. Beamer officiating. Interment in Wingham Cemetery, Turnberry Township. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Royal Canadian Ladies Auxiliary Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
