Obituary of Catherine Merle Clare

At Huronview, Clinton on Friday, March 31, 2006, Mrs. Merle Clare of Clinton, age 92 years. The former Merle Mallery beloved wife of the late Cecil Thomas Clare who predeceased her in 1985. Beloved mother of Dr. Sanford Clare and his wife Reverend Ethel Miner Clare of Belgrave. Grandmother of Cathy, Mary & Trevor, Christy & Steve and Heather. Also survived by four great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law Verna Mallery of Duncan, BC. Predeceased by her sons Harold James(1994), John Michael (1995), her daughter-in-law Jeanette (Trapp) (1994), her sister Dorothy Allen(1987), her brother Harold Mallery (2000) and an infant grandson in 1975. From 1960 to 1999 Mrs. Clare lived in Vancouver. During her time there she was involved in St. Mathias and St. Helen's Anglican Churches and was a memeber of the Order of St. Luke. She was past Worthy Matron of West Point Grey Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in 1970-71, and an active member of Daughters of the Nile. Private Family services will be held at McBurney Funeral Home on Sunday. Reverend Ethel Miner Clare officiating. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Burnaby, BC.. Memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Canadian Food Grains Bank would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
