Obituary of William Robert Thornton

Bill Thornton of R R # 2, Gorrie passed away at Huronlea, Brussels, on April 26th, 2015. Born in Morris Township on July 18th, 1924, Bill was in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Erland (Gregg) Thornton who predeceased him on May 21, 2007. Dear father of Barbara Hayden and husband Murray, Gary Thornton & Linda Fox, Brenda Bunker and husband Tim, Gregg Thornton and Timothy Thornton all of Gorrie and Margaret Thornton of Aurora. Loving grandfather of Pamela, Cheryl, Todd, Ryan, Katelyn, Curtis, Brandon, Hueston and Kaz. Great-grandfather of Cameron and Caleb. Also loved by brothers-in-law George Gregg and wife Shirley of Toronto and Arduino Stefani of King City. Predeceased by his parents Anson and Charlotte "Lottie" Thornton, sisters Loreen Stokes, Joyce Lake, and Mary Stefani and his brothers Jack and Doran Thornton. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Tuesday, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Reverend Richard D. Hall officiating. Interment in Gorrie Cemetery, Howick Township. Memorial donations to the Township of Howick Fire Department or Huronlea Residents Council would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
