Obituary of Fraser Alexander Forgie
Peacefully at Huronlea Home For The Aged, on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, Mr. Fraser Alexander Forgie of Wingham, age 95 years. Loving husband of forty-five years of Kae Wilcox Forgie. Dear brother-in-law of M. Louise Kirchen and cousin of Mildred Giles both of Toronto. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Hannah (Baker) Forgie and by his sister-in-law Olive M. Mitchell. Fraser was a life long resident of the Wingham area, having been born there on April 25th,1912. As a child he walked two miles to the one room (Gilmour's) schoolhouse and on Sundays, attended Eadie's Presbyterian Church. At the time of his marriage in 1962, Fraser was a contract courier with Canada Post. He had previously worked for his father at farming and road maintenance and established his own business, Fraser Forgie Trucking, hauling grain, salt and other general cartage. He was active in community activities, being a Past President of the curling club and an ongoing member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Wingham Golf and Curling Club on Thursday at 2:00 -4:00 pm. Private placement of ashes in Wingham Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Wingham and District Hospital Foundation or St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
