Obituary of June West

June (Burke) West of Felda, Florida quietly passed away at age 86 at Joanne's House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Florida on Monday, November 3, 2008. Born in Morris Township on June 18, 1922, daughter of the late Eleanor and Thomas Burke. Beloved wife of Michael West. She was the mother of Nancy (MacAulay) and her husband Carlton Smith of Georgetown. Dear sister of Frank and Isobel Burke of Wingham, and the late Calvin and Jane Burke of Wingham. She will especially be sadly missed by her grandchildren. Rachel and husband Jeff Saunders of Acton, Jessica Smith and Jordan Smith of Georgetown and by her Great-Grandson Austin Saunders. She was a special Aunt to Stephen & Ginette Burke of Belgrave, Sheila (Burke) and Doug Bauer of Brussels, Julie (Burke) and Glenn Ruttan of Calgary, Connie Burke and Gerald Marks of Wingham and Susan Burke of Calgary. She is survived by nine great nieces and nephews and extended family. Family and friends helped June celebrate her 80th Birthday in Wingham and that continued to give her many happy memories during the past six years. Cremation has taken place in Florida and a private family graveside memorial will be held at Wingham Cemetery. June always treasured her family and many visit home to Wingham. As her memorial stone says "Home At Last."
