Obituary of George Allan  Williams

At Wingham & District Hospital, on Friday, September 11, 2009, Dr. G. A. "Al" Williams of Wingham, age 85 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary (McCosh) Williams who predeceased him in 2004. Dear father of Bob and Deby Williams of Mount Forest, Rick and Judy Williams of Kitchener and Lynn and Jim Golanch of Hepworth. Dear friend of Debbie Busby of Wingham. Loving grandfather of Chris Williams, Cheri and Ryan Oldham, John Mullins, Emily Williams, Melissa and Shannon Netterfield. Also survived by his great-granddaughter Jadyn Mullins. Predeceased by his parents George and Emily Williams, his daughter Susan Williams and by his sister Muriel Bates. Dr. Williams owned G. A. Williams Optometry office in Wingham. He enjoyed sailing and skiing and was a former member of the Wingham Golf and Curling Club as well as the Wingham Legion Branch 180. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at McBurney Funeral Home on Monday at 1:00 pm. Reverend Wayne Beamer officiating. Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society or a Charity of Choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Royal Canadian Legion service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 9:00 pm.
