Obituary of William Robert Stewart Higgins

At Braemar Retirement Centre, Wingham on Monday, October 05, 2009, Mr. Stewart Higgins of Wroxeter age 95 years. Beloved husband of Marie (Doig) Higgins for seventy-three years. Dear dad of Ronald and Shirley Higgins of Stratford, Bill and Ruth Ann Higgins of Guelph and Paul and Rilla Higgins of St. Joseph Island. Loved grandpa of Karen & Clive, Terry & Brenda, Wanda & Kent, Andrea & Erik, Andrew & Kerri, Michael & Allison, Matthew, Virginia and Suzanne. Proud great-grandpa of Sara, Erin, Alex, Jamie, Daniel, Kevin, Amanda & Trevor, Shauna & Scott, and Kaeleigh. Great-great-grandpa of Elizabeth and Shayne. Also survived by a dear sister Minerva Baker of Ottawa and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Alex and Rosetta (Finlay) Higgins, his sister Velma and her husband Frank Graham, brothers-in-law Earl Baker, Lawson Doig and his wife Margaret and sister-in-law Nellie and her husband Reverend Arthur Leggett. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Wednesday, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 1:30 pm. Reverend Jeff Hawkins officiating. Interment in Wroxeter Cemetery, Howick Township. Memorial donations to Wroxeter United Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Forest Lodge Masonic Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:45 pm.
