Obituary of G. Ross Anderson

At Wingham & District Hospital on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, Ross Anderson of Belgrave, age 94 years. Beloved husband of Barbara (Michie) Anderson of Belgrave. Loving father of Richard Anderson & Anne-Catherine Jean of Goderich, Nancy & Rick Ball of Hanover, Doreen Anderson-Roy & Rob Roy of Peterborough and Sheila Anderson-Cousins & Doug Cousins of Guelph. Cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Brother of Donna & the late Les Shaw and Lloyd & Eleanor Anderson. Predeceased by his parents John & Myrtle (Wheeler) Anderson and sister Marie Anderson. Ross was a veteran of the R.C.A.F. and served overseas as a radar technician during the Second World War. Following the war, Ross and Barbara married and operated the hardware store in Belgrave for over 40 years. In addition, Ross was a licensed electrician and plumber and was the "go to guy" for electrical and plumbing problems in the Belgrave area. Upon retirement, Ross and Barbara built a new home in Belgrave and enjoyed travelling and hosting many memorable family gatherings. Visitation at McBurney Funeral Home Ltd., Wingham, Ontario on Friday, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 1:00 pm. Elly Dow officiating. Interment in Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave, Ontario. Memorial donations to Knox United Church, Belgrave or CNIB would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. ©
