Aunt Shirley will be deeply missed. She was a woman of many talents and the most notable ones were baking, cooking, hairstyling, gardening, and quilting. Shirley had far more talent and creativity than anything you could possibly find in a Good Housekeeping publication.
I will always remember Aunt Shirley for being an incredibly humble woman who never always had it easy but made things look easy with her talents. Great Aunt Marion always said Aunt Shirley was a person who had no idea how talented she truly was but it only attributed to her genuine humility and grace.
Shirley was an aunt, a mother, a sister, a cousin, a niece, a daughter, and a friend to those who knew her well. I like to think Dad and Uncle Lorne regained a sister again and she is with Great Aunt Marion who was far more than an aunt to her but someone she always aspired to be like in terms of a role model. Wherever Aunt Shirley’s spirit may be, I hope she is at peace and knows without uncertainty that she was loved and still is loved without end.
To Uncle Doug, Beverley, Janette, and Murray. I hope you always keep the fond memories close to you and always know that a person well loved in life will always stay with us both in memory and in spirit.
Deepest condolences,
Shawn Baird
