We were saddened to hear of Gerald's passing. Although we've known Gerald and the families for many years I will always remember Gerald's first day at Western Foundry. He arrived in 1973 as a 16 year old and was put into one of those entry level positions in the Grind and Finish area. I was charged with training him on one of the trim operations on the International Harvester seed drill castings. After a couple of hours he came to me and in that all too familiar "Eggy" drawl said " This isn't a very good job John". Thankfully he went on to some very good jobs with the company and did an even greater job for Western / Wescast in his long career.
He will be missed.
