Obituary of Isabell Montgomery Young

On Friday, March 8, 2024, Isabell (Barbour) Montgomery Young of Wingham, passed away at the age of 90 surrounded by her family.

Loving Mom to Danny Montgomery and Karen Kelly of Mitchell, Bill and Heather Montgomery of London, Barb and James York of St.Catharines, step-son Robert Young and Jane Swan of East Garafraxa. Isabell was predeceased by her husbands Earl Young in 2023, and Don Montgomery in 1996. Grandmother to Andrea Montgomery, Cheryl Harrigan, Amy Storozuk, Colin Bowers, Laura Asafo-Adjei, Chantel Hodgson, Danielle Wolfe, Ashley Hodgson, and Laura Lemiski-Young. Great-grandmother to Jonathon Storozuk-Breen, Alison and Brianne Harrigan. She is also survived by her beloved sister Phyllis Holmes.

Predeceased by her siblings and their spouses Ken & Laura Barbour, Helen & Angus MacDonald, and Allan Barbour.

Isabell will be remembered by many longtime friends. Her friendly smile and charm were the face of Vance’s Drug store and Triangle Discount. She was a devoted Legion member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Branch 180, Wingham Legion.

Visitation will be held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a Legion Service prior to visitation at 5:30 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at McBurney Funeral Home Saturday, March 16 at 1:00 pm.  Final resting place, Wingham Cemetery.
