This is the hardest news to hear this morning.
I am so sorry for such a loss – not alone to you and the family, but to the even wider community of individuals and groups who knew Maddy, and had all kinds of interactions with you both over many years.
I know from personal loss that it is perhaps the hardest and most difficult time, but please be assured that our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

I’m heart broken that we have lost Maddy, I last seen her in summer of 22, high spirited, energetic, full of fun and laughter, that is the way I will always remember my long distance cousin. We collaborated on our family tree for years together, always excited to find a long gone ancestor. She was a quilter and that is something else we shared. Her love for Newfoundland and all her relatives here was evident in
the many visits over the years. You will be In my heart
forever. Wish I was near to hug you Harold and your boys, their wives and wow the 13 grandchildren that she treasured and loved so much.
With love, Theresa

my first memory, i don't even know how old i was , but i was young, and i think it would of been the first time i met my uncle Harold, down be the bottom of lingan's rd, flock of wild youngings,(meaning a bunch caper kids, and new cousins i never met) running wild, horses, bbq, cousins, and there under the cloud of the coal mine stood a pillar of light, like the lady holding the torch when u come into the harbor of new york, stood tall, proud, connected, confident , looking back at that moment i would say, a woman who knows what's up, at first i felt intimidated by the strong female energy, but it didn't take long for my young boy fears to fade away and feel the strong love that was all around me, next thing i know i'm Laffin, literally laffin, on the back of some kinda big harley roadster, hair flying in the wind, feeling of just in the now, right there, nothing else mattered. what a blessing it was to have those times, and i wondered why it was so deep impacted to my brain as a memory, but now i know why, if that lady had that impact on me at that time, i can only imagine how unexplainable it is, to describe such a life force, and a beautiful woman, Harold, my mother always held u near and dear like her other siblings, i think u being the oldest and the closest thing i ever saw to the strong rancher dad dude from little house on the prairie, i just wanna say from the bottom of my heart how deeply sorry i am , and how awesomely proud i am to have u as a uncle, my family, to all the boys, i'm so sorry, there's no one like Ma, there's no one like Ma
