Margaret was my little sister. She was born the day before war was declared, but we never blamed her for that!
As a child she was sickly and had to go away to a home for a while - the way things were done in the days before modern drugs.
We went to Sunday School and learned hymns like "Jesus bids us shine" and "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam".
We went to the same grammar school together.
Then I married and moved away. Margaret moved to Canada and had a life very different from mine.
We compared notes and memories over the years. This last few months, during her final illness, we reminisced and I tried to keep her laughing. She was a trooper, my sister. I am so sorry she has gone, and I am sorry that her last few weeks were so full of pain.
I love you, little sister, always have, always will.
Janet
