Dean was a great guy who is gone far too early in life. His love for his family came out in nearly every conversation that we had over the 15 years I knew him. We had a lot of fun and memorable times on the golf course and on our golf trips. Many of the guys on those golf trips offer their condolences as well and remember him as a great sportsman and great to play with.

So sorry to hear about Dean's (Nubes) passing. Friends through school and long after. Playing Zoom hockey in Etobicoke with Nubes was great also. Our careers even took us both to Huron Shores area. Me to Kincardine and him to Wingham of course. I always made it a point to stop into his store when I was in Wingham and we would make the short walk to Tim's to catch up. We would also cross paths in arenas when I was coaching up there. Nubes is another one of our friends gone far too early but he will always be remembered.

We are so very sorry to hear of the passing of Dean. Gone too soon!! I only knew him from Valu Mart but Dean and I had a connection because of our Saskatchewan roots. So that connection brought us chatting together ... asking if each other was going out west etc. We always made sure we chatted a couple minutes on my regular grocery run. Dean was a good man and will be very much missed. I pray that God would comfort your family during this difficult time.

Dear Pat and family, sending my deepest condolences for your loss. I have many memories of Dean, he was a good friend of my mother, she worked at Miracle Food Mart with Dean many moons ago. My mom just told me about a time when Dean offered her to join his family for Christmas dinner, my sister and I were young teenagers, my mom just got back from her dad’s funeral on Christmas Eve and did not have time to plan a Christmas dinner. I still remember that Christmas dinner. Dean's family remained good friends of my mother and I after that time. I remember Dean being very funny and always tried to make my sister and I laugh when we were grumpy. My mother cannot be at the funeral ( she now lives in B.C) but she sends her sincere condolences and she also made a donation jointly with me. I feel happy to have known Dean, the world would be a better place with more people like him in it.

Rest In Peace my friend. You were a bright light in our town, at your store and on our curling team. No one could talk me into something I absolutely didn’t need at your store like you. “Karen try these new double dipped pork chops wrapped in bacon”…..I would buy them and I don’t even eat pork. Your frozen shrimp at curling year end was legendary…..and very cold and crunchy.
You had such peace in your life……you told me at one of our visits that you had had a wonderful life and accepted that you would not be here for long. Your biggest concern was that your family was going to be ok.
