Obituary of Marilyn Bridge
Peacefully at Wingham & District Hospital on Monday, March 22nd, 2021, Marilyn Bridge of Wingham passed away with family by her side at the age of 80.
Loving mom of Sharon Shobbrook, Sheila & Terry Armstrong, Lyle & Audrey Bridge, Lynne & Don Armstrong, Brad & Diane Shobbrook, Susan Bridge & Don, Steven Bridge & Vicky and Krista Marston. Cherished grandma of seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Phyllis Biggin & Denis Jewitt, Wayne & Barb Fear, Larry & Linda Fear, Bruce & Joyce Fear and Verna Edgar. Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by the extended Shobbrook and Bridge families. Predeceased by her first husband Rae Shobbrook, second husband Allan Bridge, brother Russell Fear, parents Samuel & Margaret Fear, daughter-in-law Cathy Bridge and son-in-law Marvin Fulmek.
Marilyn’s greatest accomplishment was her family who meant the world to her. She took great pride in her grandchildren. She was so proud of each and every one of them and everything they had accomplished and loved hearing about their lives. She loved when they would come to visit her or call, especially in the last few years while she was on her own. Marilyn was a social butterfly and would drop everything in an instance if an opportunity came to spend time with her family or her friends.
Visitation will be held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, those wishing to attended must RSVP via our website, please keep in mind only Marilyn’s children will be in the receiving line. Masks must be worn at all times.
A private funeral service will be held at the Wingham United Church on Friday, March 26th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Colin Snyder officiating. Please do not attend the funeral. Final resting place, Wingham Cemetery.
