Obituary of Verna Norgate

Peacefully at Huron Hospice on Sunday, February 21, 2021, Verna Norgate of Wingham passed away surrounded by her family, at the age of 67.

Devoted mom of Jeremy & Andrea Brown of Sault Ste. Marie, Jennifer & Simon Atton of Wingham, and Jeffrey & Danielle Norgate of Wingham. Loving grandma of Ashton, Brett, Bella, Emmitt, Nathan and Winston. Dear sister of Jack & Annabelle Aitchison of Strathroy, and Doug & Nancy Aitchison of Lucknow. Verna will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, her dear friend Cheryl Souch and the coffee girls. Predeceased by her parents James & Celia (Wilson) Aitchison and infant brother Kenneth Aitchison.

Visitation will be held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. A private funeral service will be held at McBurney Funeral Home on Thursday with Reverend Peggy Kinsman officiating. Final resting place, Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, anyone wishing to attend the visitation must RSVP via our website. When completing the RSVP, please register for the time slot you want to attend, if there is no button to RSVP then that time is full. Everyone must wear a mask while inside the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Huron Residential Hospice or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
