To Paul's family,
I met Paul in the summer of 1979 at Ottawa U, where he was a candidate on the Ontario Ministry of Education's Principals Course. As a group leader, I had a number of pleasant encounters with Paul, who was in a group led by a charismatic principal from North York, the late Jim Montgomerie, known provincially as "the hugging principal". When we moved to Goderich in 2002, I was pleasantly surprised to meet up with Paul, mostly on Tuesday mornings at the Maitland Country Club where we both enjoyed the fellowship of the senior men's golf league. When he approached me I was pleased to support him in his bid for a seat on Town Council, where he served the community well. At this time of sadness, I offer sincere condolences to you.
Respectfully,
Wayne Weaver

Hi Becky - so sorry for your loss. I am thankful for the time he generously donated to his students at Madill. Drama and Effective Speaking were definitely some of the best (and most hilarious) parts of high school for me. He was so funny, and kind, and demanding... an excellent teacher and coach. Thinking about him and sending you my sympathies on this sad day.
