Obituary of Erma (Kappler) Fitch

Peacefully at Braemar Retirement Home, Wingham on Sunday, May 10th, 2020, Erma Fitch passed away at the age of 105. 

Cherished mother of Norma Brophy. Dear grandma of Patty & Brad MacKay, Sharon Brophy, Bill & Vickie Brophy and Paul & Angela Brophy. Great-grandma of Ryan and Tyler MacKay, Patrick Purves & Jennifer, Dani Purves, Brian Brophy, Brett Brophy & Kloe, Rachel Brophy and Thomas, Colleen and Michael Brophy. Great-great-grandma of Owen and Zoey. Erma will be lovingly remembered by Carl’s family, Lois McCutcheon, Sharon McClory, Elwood & Lynda Fitch, Arthur & Jenifer Fitch and Kevin & Kathy Fitch, her sister Shirley Sgariglia and her family as well as many extended family members. Predeceased by her parents Bill & Ethel Gleeson, step-mother Leona Gleeson, her first husband Arthur Kappler (1983), her second husband Carl Fitch (1997), sons-in-law Desmond Brophy and Mel McCutcheon, brother-in-law Maurice Sgariglia and six siblings.

Due to provincial restrictions a private family memorial will be held with interment at Wingham Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Association for Williams Syndrome would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
