We are so sorry to hear of Bob's illness and passing! Bob was always such a joy to be around, always laughing, joking and carrying on. When he talked of any of his family, his face just lit up! You could see the pride flowing from him, whether it was the kids, grandkids or the joy of his life, Susan. I will never forget our last conversation, deer hunting, and how he, at 70, could run through the bush all day and me, at 49, am not able to at all. Bob was right beside Trent when he shot his first deer and was so proud when they exited the bush! Bob was a Energizer bunny that will be sadly missed, but remembered forever!

Dear Susan, Shane, Joel and Christa,
Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of a Great family man and human being. Bob brought sunshine wherever he went and I can't help but smile when thinking of every occasion we had to connect. Bob was extremely proud of his family, and grand children. Through you, his family, his legacy will live on. I don't know of another individual more passionate about the value of the great outdoors and his passion to share, mentor, and coach and celebrate that love with all of us even if some of us needed a touch up every so often. Thank you for sharing his life, his passion, his stories, his wit, and his special smile with us all. We are all better people having shared some time on earth with Bob.

Susan, Shane, Joel, Christa and family,
So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. It's always a bit of a shock, hearing that some one I knew from Wingham and area has passed away. I went to school, with Shane, and Joel, and possibly church too. I only saw Bob at either of those places, however the way he carried himself you could tell he was a man of honesty and integrity and tried to instill that in his sons too. I only saw him on the Baseball field coaching a few times, and he seemed tough but fair.
I wish you all the best during this difficult time with his passing and the things going on in the world currently that make funerals and gatherings difficult. I hope that you are staying safe and well.
Once again my heart felt condolences to you and yours.
Sincerely,
Linda Hollinger

Dear Sue, Shane and Joel, our deepest sympathies go out to you and your families. Bob had so many wonderful qualities but his love of family was always at the top of his list. I hope that knowing how much he was valued by his many friends will give you some comfort in the difficult times ahead.
Bob was a terrific mentor, workmate, hunting companion and friend. I had the pleasure of working with him for almost 30 years and he always impressed me with his devotion to the resource we loved and for his fairness and respect in dealing with people. It was for those those reasons that he was always my sounding board when preparing a new plan or policy. If he had concerns, I knew I had a bit more work to do. I greatly enjoyed our times together on patrol, at the hockey tournaments, or when pheasant and moose hunting.
I know I'll be thinking of Pegger with every opening day and with every passing flock of Canada geese.
Our deepest condolences,
Lori and Mike Malhiot

Dear Susan
It was shocking when we heard of Bob's passing and our heartfelt condolences go to you and your Family. Bob's passing allowed me a chance to reflect back in time and appreciate just how much of an honour it is to have had the opportunity to both work and play with Bob at the MNR in Wingham and the BPs. So many fond memories, MNR hockey tournaments, discussions about the Canadien's in Bill's garage, etc. Bob always carried himself in a professional manner as a Conservation Officer and as a person. Bob played baseball with pride and respect for his teammates as well as his opponent, but he still wouldn't pass up the opportunity to "bury" you if you dared to try and slide into second base. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this time Susan.

The sad news of Bob's passing gave me pause to greave and recall some of the blessings he shared with me when our paths in life crossed: working together during the first years of the MNR Wingham office - he preferred to be on patrol and influence hunters to higher ethics than in the office bravado; the note he left on my hidden truck's windshield when he discovered my favourite woodcock cover on Ernie King's Holyrood property but kept it secret - "Now I know where you go on October afternoons"; when Rene Jones and I bumped into him at the MVCA offices and spent a short time reminiscing with Phil Beard - all leaving with a tear in our eyes of past fond times; when John Dobell and I asked Bob to speak to our Wild Turkey Hunter Safety seminar in Palmerston - we knew Bob's hunting spirit and what he would likely say to them, but Cam Brownson, OFAH coordinator, was blown away by Bob's openness in sharing with the new hunters how he expected them to behave if he checked them out and how he would treat them fairly as long as they responded honestly, even if they did something wrong; the photograph in Ontario Out of Doors celebrating his grandson's first wild turkey, his sons in the foreground, and he proudly in the background; when I saw the smile and friendly eyes in the photograph the family posted with this notice; and when I read the postings from others on his tribute wall. All these moments remind me of how the old pioneer saying applies to my memory of Pegger - 'still waters run deep'.
My heartfelt condolences to his wife and their family.

To Susan, Shane, Joel, Christa and their families,
With a saddened heart we heard of Bob's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time, but I know that the strength of your Faith and your love for a full life will ensure you go through this with your heads high. Also, I know that Bob looks down on you from above with his infectious smile, and is SO proud!
The first person I remember meeting in Bluevale when I moved there as a 16 year kid was Bob Pegg. Not sure how my dad connected with him, but I ended up on the Bluevale baseball diamond, being pitched to by this guy who was throwing a ball (what felt like) 100 mph by me, and who clearly knew and loved the game of baseball. I know my performance QUICKLY clarified that I was NOT a baseball player, but his optimism and kindness allowed me to have a spot on his team. My life benefited from him supporting me in that as a Coach, and grew to include a great friendship with his son Shane and the entire Pegg family...with Bob at the helm. My life is better because of those 3 years in Bluevale around the Pegg's and Machan's.
My memories of Bob will forever be of his smile, his optimism, his love for the outdoors, his tact, his smart wit and his willingness to help a young kid fit into a new place. It was appreciated and will be paid forward!
You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Tim and Michelle Dambrowitz

Our condolences to Susan and the rest of the family. We would have liked to visit with everyone to pass on our personal sympathies and stories of Bob, but this COVID 19 crisis has put a "wrench" into that. So this will have to do for now.
We'll all miss Bob. I love the picture you have posted of him. It is so appropriate that he is in cammo! Bob was the keenest and most knowledgeable hunter, I've ever known. I have so many good memories of our waterfowl, coyote and turkey hunts. Plus one memorable fishing excursion, were we couldn't get the motor out of reverse, yet still fished the whole day, trolling backwards up and down the lake? Can't you just hear the cottagers talking about us as they looked out upon the lake and saw these guys trolling backwards. Ha ha. In the outdoors, Bob was in his element and I felt blessed to have shared that with him.
If it wasn't cammo, you could have chosen a picture of Bob in either a Ticats or Canadiens jersey too. We had so much fun teasing each other about our favourite teams, mine being the Leafs and Argos. At one game in TO, I felt like the only Argo fan in the building despite it being an Argo home game. The Ticats destroyed us but Bob refused to rub it in on the ride home. He was a good man!
Most of all I will remember Bob for being a great family man. He was so proud, and righly so, of their 3 children, their spouses and Grandchildren. And of course "The Bride." Through each of you, Bob will forever be with us.
Love Terry and Sandy Walker

To the Pegg family.
Please accept our deepest and most sincere condolences on the passing of such a great man. Bob was first and foremost, a man of great faith in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Bob was a field officer that lead by example with heart and soul. Bob was a man that loved you like a brother.
I had the honor of working along side “Pegger” at the Clinton MNR office. He always had that infectious smile and spoke in a friendly, reassuring voice. He displayed compassion for everyone he met and treated each person with great fairness and respect. Bob was quick to lend a hand and always ready to work endless hours to get the job done. Few had the knowledge of laws and the understanding of fish and wildlife resources like Bob. He was one of the last true Game Wardens, a term reserved for few officers.
Bob’s love of hunting and fishing was boundless as was his love for “Suzy” and their kids and grand kids. He spoke of them with love and reverence for their life and accomplishments.
Bob made the world a better place to live. You will be missed “partner.”
Sincerely,

Susan and Family,
Sending my heart felt condolences on Bob's passing. I was attached to him for 10 plus years as a child and young adult in every sport I played. Bob was one of the most influential people in my life, as he coached me in sports for many years. Wingham Minor Ball, Wingham Minor Hockey, Belgrave Blue Devils, Wingham Knights, Wroxeter Rippers, ect., he was always there. I could never Thank him enough for all the time he committed to all of us kids.
One of my fondest memories of Bob was a trip the Wroxeter Rippers were taking to NAFA Championships in Fargo North Dakota. Bob in the front seat of the van, with 8 teenagers in the back as we pull up to the border crossing in Sarnia. The agent asks immediately for all of our passports, which Bob hands over. The agents does a quick check on them, and begins to hand them all back. At the same time the agent asks Bob "where are you guys headed?" Bob sternly answers, "to win a ball tournament!" Agent replies, "Go ahead." nothing else apparently needed to be said...
Pegger, I always looked up to you as a leader. you were a good man, one of the best! I think about the way you treated us kids often, and I try to coach with the same passion and commitment you did. You moved the bar to an elite level, and I Thank you for that.
I will never forget our last visit, your kind words to me will never be forgotten. I hope you have found now, your "Field of Dreams"

We are truly saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He was an exceptional person. Of course we best knew him as a Conservation Officer at the MNR and as a member of the Wingham BP's.
Bob had tremendous leadership qualities and he always led by example. He was a fierce competitor but never stepped outside the boundaries of "doing the right thing!" He set an example for his kids, his co-workers, his teammates, the players he coached, and all of his many friends.
It will be said that Bob is in a better place now. I suspect Bob will find his "Field of Dreams". There will be a place where he can hunt and fish. And there will be a baseball field. And it's possible that Sleepy and Ham Coultes, Fast Eddie Daer, Dicker Sangster, Tommy Deyell and some others, maybe putting together a team for a weekend ball tournament.
But regardless, he will be missed.

To the Pegg family,
Had the pleasure of hunting many times with Bob and some of his great friends and his boys.
Proud to have called Bob a friend and one of the best outdoor enthusiasts one could ever meet.
Met Bob years ago with my brother Rennie who I know will miss Bob tremendously.
Goodbye my friend .

Dear Susan & family,
I am deeply saddened by Bob’s passing; he was a great coach to me as a youngster. Bob coached me in both hockey and baseball for over 10 years.
I always wanted to do the very best I could on the field for Bob; he was one of those guys you'd run through a wall for. One of my fondest memories of Bob as a coach was after hitting my first ever out of the park home run one afternoon in Wroxeter; Bob was coaching 1st base and as I came down the line waiting for me was a huge smile and a giant pat on the back as I rounded the bag.
Pegger will be dearly missed.
Our deepest sympathy - Mark Olson and family
