I fondly remember Elizabeth being at many of our family functions at my Grandma Eileen Marks’ (née Sanderson) on the farm outside Wroxeter. Elizabeth was a good friend and good help to my Grandma. She was always very kind to me too. Maybe she was one of the many people who inspired me to become a teacher. I lost touch with Elizabeth after my Grandma’s passing. To all the McKercher families we send our condolences. Elizabeth will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing her over the years. I am one of those as I had her as a teacher at SS6 Morris and she inspired me in so many ways. Now Elizabeth is at peace and we all have our precious, treasured memories to share. Grandma Elizabeth will always be remembered for letting me keep strange pets at Jamestown or Bayfield--including snails, bugs, and even a little mouse (which I was forbidden to show my Uncle John). She made the world's greatest peach pies and raspberry pies (without her the world is just a little less sweet) . I loved visiting Grandma for "holidays", going to the Diesel Car Diner for Milkshakes and playing Chinese Checkers in the dining room. Grandma always let us "explore" and play make-believe with all the treasures in the basement. She was a firm believer in a nice snack before bed (usually hot chocolate and a cookie or two). Kaius and Alyaina also loved their Great Grandma Elizabeth and say that "she was kind and special" (and always seemed to have a little surprise for them). Kaius says, "She is in my heart always". I think she is in all our Hearts Always.
